Going Away Party At Arrington Vineyards - by Weddings with Reese
Even as the remnants of Hurricane Ike came through Middle TN, Arrington Vineyards proved once again to be an amazing place for a get together! Neither wind nor rain could stop these ladies from getting together to say farewell to a dear friend.
Amy contacted me to help her get this party together, and I was delighted to do it for such a sweet lady! She wanted something "fallish" and done in blues and browns. She really just wanted something truly unique and special for her friend to show her how much she has meant to Amy. Not only did we have fun putting it together, we also did an "extended" wine tasting to determine the best wines for the event! If you haven't tried AV's wines, you are missing out!
...Go check this place out! Unfortunatly, it's not availible as a wedding venue, but maybe someday! In the meantime, it's a great place for a shower or maybe a bridesmaid's luncheon. Bring your own food, and buy wine there, and you are in for a great time!

The Life of Mark and Katie - Blog
Saturday night we went to Arrington Vineyards. Arrington Vineyards was founded in 2005 by Kix Brooks and some other guys. Most every Saturday night they have live music and wine tastings. Again, the weather was still perfect. We took some fruit and cheese and tasted several wines. During our wine tasting down in the cellar we realized Kix Brooks was there. So of course, we wanted to chat, get a picture and his autograph. We accomplished all of that and had the best time. We were very surprised to see him, of course, I guess he has to make his visits unannounced.

How can you live somewhere for six years of your life and never, ever realize a place like this existed only 30 miles away? On Saturday, Manley, our cutie friend Josh and I packed a picnic and headed south to Arrington Vineyards. We tasted a handful of wines, most of them quite complex (including a raspberry dessert wine that was as tart as it was sweet...mmmmm) and set up camp on the cozy patio in front of a sprawling view... And Tennessee is beautiful.

La Vida Nashville - Arrington Vineyards - June 26th, 2008
Arrington Vineyards is located about 30 minutes from downtown Nashville, and it is SO worth the trip. Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn is one of the owners, and is often seen relaxing on the deck. Rebekah and I went to the vineyard for the first time on its opening weekend in July of '07, and we've been at least every few weeks ever since!
Location, Location, Location: The vineyard sits on the side of a beautiful hill that overlooks some of their grape vines. The slope provides an amazing, natural amphitheater that the vineyard utilizes in the summer when they have their weekend concert series. If you like to stay out of the sun(or rain if that should be the case) they offer an amazing wrap-around, 2-level deck! The deck sports fireplaces, fire pits, picnic tables, and tables and chairs. I would say you could fit about 100 people on the deck's 2 levels. Off the deck there is also a courtyard with a water fountain where they occasionally have live music! There is also a private banquet room that I've never had the pleasure of seeing, but is supposedly great for wedding receptions and the like.
Wine Tastings: The wine tastings are FREE! If you go during the week(especially during the day), you can try every one of their wines(they have about 12) at no cost. However, if it gets really crowded, sometimes they will limit you to any 4 of your choice. They do not take reservations, and when they get really crowded, they will have a waiting list. When you put your name on the waiting list(which we have only ever had to do once!), you give them your cell phone number as well and they will call you when it's your party's turn.
Our Favorite Things: The Red Fox Red is our favorite wine, try it! The chill atmosphere is such a relief. The people that work at the vineyard encourage you to pack a picnic basket and sit out on their porch. Of course they'd love for you to pick up a bottle of their wine to enjoy with it, but they don't go around and check either. The music is always phenomenal, but never overpowering to the point where you can't engage in conversation when there is a band.
The Cost: Amazingly, gas is probably the most expensive part of enjoying Arrington Vineyards. Rebekah and I will throw some cheese and crackers into our rockin' picnic basket with a blanket and we're off! The price of the wine ranges from $15 to $28 (with an occasional $75 bottle that has gone into reserves if you're into that kind of thing). This is incredibly cheap considering how great it is!
When(not if) You Go: Call us first, we'd love to crash your party! Go the their website and see if there is a private party taking place on the day you want to go. We've NEVER had to change our plans because of a private party, and come to think of it, we've never seen them have one! When you're on the website, go ahead and check and see if there is a concert that day, but I assure you the place is so much fun with or without a live band. Play it safe and pack some bug spray and sunscreen. We've never found ourselves in dire need of either one, but better safe than sorry. Feel free to throw in a frisbee or a board game also. They do have some board games for you to borrow, but if you have your favorite, bring it along.

Arrington Vineyards - Fri June 22, 2008
Last night was a free evening for us, so I told my wife, "let's go check out the Arrington Winery." Man were we surprised...and impressed. First of all it was a wonderful evening for a convertible ride through the beautiful Tennessee countryside. Later that evening the western sky would be host to a beautiful sunset. We arrived around 7 pm and cars were lined up on both sides of the driveway, all the way around the huge circular drive, and even in the grass...everywhere...there must have been 50-60 of them. The winery itself was a beautiful wood structure setting on a hilltop, offering a panoramic view of the grape vineyards below. The grounds surrounding the winery were covered with visitors sitting on blankets, folding chairs, park benches, on the grass, on picnic tables and patio tables, retaining walls, boulders..anywhere they could find a spot. There were picnic baskets, take-out food and wine everywhere. Cheese & crackers were plentiful and live music filled the warm evening air. Children were running and laughing, playing tag on the hillside while their parents prepared their evening "dinner on the ground".
Inside the winery customers scurried about carrying bottles of wine, souvenirs and an assortment of crackers and cheese, all assisted by the friendly and efficient staff. The checkout line was rather long, so there was no doubt that business was very good. In the wine tasting room below, the professional staff offered free samples of their wine. What an experience!!!
In a small and somewhat humble band shell sat two musicians playing guitars. Their finger picking style of acoustic jazz entertained the listeners who had brought their chairs up for a closer and more intimate concert.
As if all this were not enough to lure you into a very pleasurable and satisfying evening under the stars, it was all free. The "Arrington Vineyards"...a place you just have to experience, over & over.
